Boomer In Florence

Boomer's First Trip to Florence!

On Wednesday Boomer was so excited to make his first trip to Florence! When we arrived in Florence Boomer got to learn so much about the history of the city! The walking tour of Florence was very informational. We learned all about The Duomo, or the Cathedral of Florence that holds over six centuries of history! You can learn more about the Duomo at

Boomer's favorite part of the trip was getting to visit the Galleria Dell Accademia. This is where the biblical hero David is located! Not just any statue of David though, the original! Michel Angelo himself sculpted the historical statue of David at 26 years old from 1501-1504. David stands at 17ft tall of solid marble. David was originally located at Plaza Della Signoria, the seat of CMC government in Florence and was unveiled September 8th, 1504. David came to symbolize the defense of civil liberties embodied in the Florentine Republic and because of this was moved in 1873 to the Galleria Dell Accademia. A replica of David was placed at its original location at Palazzo della Signoria. Boomer was so excited about seeing David and learning about all of the history of Florence he couldn't help but continue the historical tradition of sooners and break a few rules along the way to get a picture with david!

Learning so much about Florence and its rich history and culture made boomer tired and at the end of the day he needed some good old american Hard Rock Cafe food! Yes, there is a hard rock in Italy! He loved it!
