Boomer in Florence!

Ciao!! Italy is so beautiful and Boomer and I have just started our travels! Today we visited the historic city of Florence, Italy! Florence is located in the northern midwest of Italy, and it is about an hour from Arezzo when taking a train. In Italy, most people get  around by riding the train because it is faster than walking or driving a car. Boomer and I got to the train station 15 minutes early to read the train schedule to see the information of where we should go to catch the train, because the trains platform and time could change at any moment. For additional information about train schedules in Italy you can visit the website belowhttp://www.italiarail.com/timetable.

Once we arrived to Florence, the scenery was absolutely beautiful! Below are some pictures of the Piazza Repubblica. The Piazza is at the heart of Florence, and everyone gathers here to socialize or relax. Many people set up "booths" to sell leather purses, scarves, and little trinkets that mainly attract tourists. Something interesting you will find on almost all flags or symbols on purses is the Iris. The Iris is the flower of the city of Florence. After seeing the beautiful Piazza we went and explored the rest of the town which led us to the Academia Gallery. The gallery is home to the famous statue of David, sculpted by Michelangelo in 1504. Unfortunately we were unable to take pictures while on the tour. If you refer to the link below you can visit their website to plan a trip, buy tickets, and even explore the history of the museum. The tour was so cool and I would recommend if you are in town to drop by. http://www.uffizi.org/florence-museums/accademia-gallery/

That's all for now of Boomer's and my trip to Florence. Arrivederci!
