Boomer meets a relative in Firenze!

Hello all!! Let me update you on the latest trip Boomer and I took that was in Firenze, Italy. Our exciting day included horseback riding, wine tasting, and delicious Italian dinner. Our location was actually in the Chianti area in Tuscany which is known to be one of the most beautiful regions in the area, as well as the most well-known and appreciated by visitors from across the world. The borders of the Chianti region are not clearly defined but in general it extends over the provinces of Florence and Siena, covering all of the area between the two cities and extending to the east toward the Valdarno and to the west to the Val d'Elsa. The Chianti wine area extends further beyond the two cities, all around Florence and even toward Arezzo, Pistoia and Montepulciano. To learn more about Chianti and the territory and activities that you can do there visit the link below. http://www.chianti.com/

After Boomer got to reunite with his distant relatives we went on to our wine tasting which had a beautiful view! We visited the Comitato Grandi Cru D'Italia wine cellar. Here we were given interesting information on how the fermentation and maturation process works when producing wine. Did you know that a wine such as the Chianti Classico is required to have 80% of Sangiovese grapes? For more information on what types of grapes are used in wine, what the temperature should be when the wine is in maturation, and more general information, visit the link provided on the Chianti Classico. www.chianticlassico.com/en/vino/il-vino-chianti-classico/

Finally we finished our night with a delicious Italian meal which included a first course filled with meats, cheese and corn mill. A second course that was a tomato bread soup (super yummy) and lastly a third course that was a pasta filled with vegetables and string noodles, oh and we can't forget the vino (wine). :) Throughout our day we were accompanied by the company named Florencetown, which is located in Firenze, Italy. This company was really great and transported us to each destination on the trip, they also had very friendly and funny staff. I highly recommend booking a trip with them the next time you visit Florence! Below is a picture with our guide, Edwardo with Flat Boomer and a link to their website. http://www.florencetown.com/
